TARRYTOWN, NY—The Construction Advancement Institute announced it is now accepting applications for undergraduate students enrolled to study science, math, architecture, engineering, applied sciences or other course curriculum (as determined by the scholarship committee).
CAI Chairman Mark Fante, who heads the educational and advocacy organization that serves the region’s building industry, made the announcement.
Up to five scholarship awards of $5,000 each will be given to students for the 2016-17 college year. Qualified candidates must be related to members, members’ employees or other contributors to the Industry Advancement Fund program (IAF) of the Building Contractors Association of Westchester & The Mid-Hudson Region (BCA) and participating unions including Carpenters, Local No. 279, International Union of Operating Engineers, Local No. 137, Laborers, Local No. 235 and Bricklayers, Local No. 5.
Since the program was established in 2008, the CAI has awarded more than $125,000 in financial aid to more than 25 children of association members and union members in the building trades.
The deadline to submit an application is June 1, 2016.
